Oil and Gas to be Delivered in Belarus Through Lithuania, Burya

The First Deputy Prime Minister of Belarus Viktor Burya discussed with the Prime Minister of Lithuania Andrius Kubilius the possibilities of deliveries of oil and liquefied gas through the Lithuanian ports. The First Deputy Prime Minister of Belarus stated that all necessary details of joint Belarusian-Lithuanian projects about which an agreement was made during the visit of the Lithuanian Prime Minister to Minsk were specified at the meeting.

«In particular, we spoke about the possibility of delivery of oil and liquified gas through the Lithuanian ports», Viktor Burya said. «The Lithuanian party acquainted us with the communique text in which the concrete projects for diversification of energy resources delivery were described», BelTA informs on the words of the Belarusian First Deputy Prime Minister.

It is also known that the structural projects which will make possible two countries to improve the transport communication and to increase speed of Minsk-Vilnius trains were considered at the Vilnius meeting.

As Telegraf informed, Belarus and Lithuania can build gas liquefaction plant in Klaipeda port. «One of the directions of Belarus’ energy strategy is construction of natural gas liquefaction terminal. We are working out this project with our Lithuanian colleagues», Prime Minister of Belarus, Sergei Sidorsky, stated on June, 28th.
