On Wednesday, September 1, officers of the State Security Committee together with officials of the State Control bodies conducted a sudden search in the office of Novak sociological laboratory. During unplanned check, security forces seized all computers.
Representatives of state control did not mention the causes of unplanned check. As the head of Novak laboratory, Belarusian sociologist Andrei Vardomatsky, said, Belarusian special services carry out such kind of checks regularly before the next election campaign or referendum, Belarus partisan informs.
As Andrei Vardomatsky explained, the laboratory had not been engaged in political studies for a long time. It is involved mainly in conducting media or marketing researches. Nevertheless, the head of the laboratory is frequently invited to various conferences as an expert. According to the sociologist, perhaps someone from the authorities did not like this fact.
