Explosion Occurred in Protestant Church in Belarus

January 30, there was a blow-up in one of the Protestant churches, in Babruisk (Mahiliou district). According to MES, the boiler exploded through violation of the operational rules. Two men (1951 and 1974 of birth) were injured as a result of the explosion. They were taken to hospital with injuries of varying severity. The church building was not damaged.

According to MES information, the victims are the unemployed men, who came to the house of worship to get a warm and ask for food. They intended to heat the water in the pot in order to wash. However, the pot was disconnected from the heating system and there was no circulation. There followed the explosion then, BelTA informs.

In the result, one man with 60% of burns of the body was taken to the intensive care unit. The second was more fortunate - doctors stated only 4% of burns of the body.

The same day, a small explosion occurred in Smaliavichy district, Minsk voblast. A spray can blew up there. The locals accidently had thrown the can into the fire, along with the rubbish. Thus, the man’s clothes caught fire, which resulted in 10% of burns on his body - hands and forearms.
