Lukashenko: Belarus Against Any Sort of Dictatorship (updated)

President of Belarus Alexander Lukashenko says the country is actively opposing all sort of dictate and imposition of others’ will from outside. "We are against the fact that a sovereign, independent state is dictated the way it should develop," said the Belarusian leader on March 6.

During a meeting with Iranian Foreign Minister Ali Akbar Salehi, held in Minsk on March 6, Alexander Lukashenko expressed his confidence that Iran's leadership held the same position as Belarus, BelTA informs.

Belarusian President notes that the country does not keep aside from the situation unfolding in Iran. According to the Head of State, Belarus is not indifferent and is watching the situation there with understanding and empathy, as Belarus itself often becomes subject of attacks by other states.

Alexander Lukashenko says he personally has very warm relations with the leader of Iran, as well as its spiritual leader. He also hopes that after the parliamentary elections, recently held in the country, Iran will strengthen its stability, become more mobile and "will be looking forward to the future for the sake of its citizens."

Head of State also announced his intention to be more actively engaged in the implementation of bilateral projects with Iran.

"Belarus doesn’t intend to go back on the program of our actions, which has already been defined," Alexander Lukashenko assured the head of the Iranian Foreign Ministry.

In turn, Ali Akbar Salehi on behalf of Iran's president invited Alexander Lukashenko to visit Iran.
