China's presented Belarus with a gift of 22 light-armored special vehicles Meng Shi ("Good Soldier"), produced by group Dongfeng. According to the Defense Ministry of Belarus, the cars will go into service of special operations forces. Minsk residents and guests of the Belarusian capital will be able to see this new technique at the parade of Minsk garrison on Independence Day on July 3.
The vehicles were donated to the Belarusians in the framework of an agreement between the Armed Forces of Belarus and the People's Liberation Army of China, noted in the Defense Ministry.
Meng Shi cars are a new series of highly mobile all-terrain vehicles weighing 3.5 tons, developed by the Chinese company Dongfeng.
Off-road vehicles of this series are characterized by high mobility, good safety features and ergonomics, says the Defense Department. They can be used on any terrain, in any climate.
The Chinese army adopted a rover Meng Shi in 2007. According to one of the versions, the Chinese developed this car based on the civil version of the Hummer, acquired by China in the 1990s.
