Companies with Low Wages Are under Special Control, Ministry of Taxes and Duties

Ministry of Taxes and Duties of Belarus informed that companies paying the minimum wage to their workers are under special control of the ministry officers. In particular, it concerns companies which provide services for repair and maintenance of vehicles, explained in the department of monitoring activities' organization of MTD.

According to the agency representative, to struggle against the companies paying wages to its employees in the amount of subsistence level and reflect minimum revenue in their tax returns, we apply different methods of influence, BelTA informs.

It can be preventive conversations with business leaders, as well as monitoring their activities in the service delivery points, conducting inspections using the method of test purchases and claiming declarations from the founders and directors, noted in the ministry.

In the department of the MTD gave as an example the situation with the activities of «M» private unitary enterprise (Gomel region). When checking the declaration submitted by the head of the firm, it was found that his income from business activity, wages accrued and paid by the company, borrowed money are 18.6 million rubles less than the amount of money he spent on the purchase of three brand new cars.

«As a result, for the citizen we calculated and presented for payment an income tax in the amount of 2.2 million rubles, which is fully come in the budget», reported in tax ministry.
