Number of Poisoned Children in Pinsk Reaches 91, Ministry of Health

Belarusian Ministry of Health informed on March 22, that 91 children and three employees of nursery school got ill because of the acute intestinal infection outbreak in Pinsk's nursery school № 29. According to the Health Ministry, there were not registered any severe forms of disease in the period form 11:00 a.m. on March 20, to 06:30 a.m. on March 22. 

«All the sick are receiving necessary medical care. The reserve of essential drugs ensures current demand», said in the official statement of the Ministry.

As specialists informed, there was the outbreak of, probably, bacterial etiology. «Sanitary-Epidemiological Service is prosecuting an epidemic inquiry sampling for laboratory tests», noted in the Ministry of Health.

«For the purpose of operational monitoring of epidemiological situation, control over medical care for patients with acute intestinal infections, coordination of cupping outbreak, there was established an operational headquarters in Pinsk under the town’s mayor. Headquarters’ meetings are held twice a day, involving all concerned people», informed the ministry.

«On March 22, we organized headquarters’ meeting with the participation of Health Minister, Vasily Zharkov, a deputy minister — the chief state sanitary doctor, Valentina Kachan. Epidemiological activity to localize the hotbed is being continued», informed in the Ministry of Health.
