Attorney General's Office has established the involvement of the accused in the terrorist attack in Minsk subway in 14 crimes from 2000 to 2011. This was reported by Deputy Attorney General — the chief of investigation department of the Prosecutor General, Andrei Shved, after the meeting with head of state about the investigation into Minsk subway explosion on May 31.
«Head of State was briefed on the investigation into criminal cases in connection with terrorist acts in Minsk and Vitsebsk, said a spokesman for the Prosecutor General. — In particular, the President informed that the investigation team had revealed the new facts of criminal acts committed by the accused on the territory of Belarus.»
According to Andrei Shved, the defendants began their criminal activities in 2000. «That is, they have committed criminal acts in one of the districts of Vitsebsk for over ten years mostly from improvised explosive devices. Today there have been established 14 facts of crimes during the period from 2000 to 2011,» BelTA quoted Deputy Attorney General.
«Investigation is currently collecting the necessary evidence on these facts to bring charges in these crimes. The causes and conditions, allowing the accused to commit their criminal acts for so long, are being established,» said a spokesman for the prosecutor’s office.
Shved Accused Practically Everyone of Connivance in Minsk Explosion
«It’s also found out that everything happened through connivance of law enforcement officials, inaction of local authorities, services, housing, health, education, complete indifference neighbors, relatives, schoolmates, classmates, who knew that defendants are inclined to making improvised explosive devices, bombings, arson,» said Andrei Shved.
«No one informed state authorities properly or state authorities did not take appropriate measures to prevent their criminal activities. Thus the defendants from simple yard bullies have turned in terrorists for a ten-year period through the connivance of state authorities,» said the representative of the Prosecutor General’s Office.
According to him, the result of the defendants criminal activity is 15 people killed and more than 500 victims injured. «Our state, society, the people have suffered colossal moral and material damage,» added the deputy prosecutor general.
As Telegraf previously reported, over 200 people were injured in the subway explosion on April 11. 11 people were killed, four more died from their injuries in city hospitals.
