Belarusian opposition still can not decide on nominating a single candidate in presidential elections. Thus, co-chairman of the organizing committee for the creation of the Belarusian Christian Democracy (BCD), Vital Rymasheuski stated that "while there is a point of integration with Russia in the program of Uladzimir Niaklajeu (leader of "Tell the truth!" civil campaign) negotiations with him are impossible".
Vital Rymasheuski plans to apply for registration of the action group of a presidential nominee on Friday, September 24. Paval Sevyarynets is to be the team leader, «Nasha Niva» informs.
Vital Rymasheuski also said that BCD is ready if necessary to agitate the people to go to the streets to protest against the regime. Thus, the BCD on November 24 will take part in a street rally of the campaign «Get out!», which was initiated by the unregistered youth organization «Young Front».
«This is a key event. It will be held on the day after the registration or non-registration of the presidential candidates, as well as in the anniversary of the anti-constitutional referendum 1996. We will also protest against abuses in the elections which are now being prepared», Paval Sevyarynets, the co-chairman of the BCD, explained.
Meanwhile, Mikola Statkevich, the chairman of the Belarusian Social Democratic Party (People’s Assembly), still hopes that the opposition will nominate a single candidate after collecting signatures, so that «Lukashenko (current President of Belarus Alexander Lukashenko — Telegraf) was not able to choose the single candidate».
As Telegraf informed, the unregistered youth organization «Young Front» (Czech Republic) announced the start of «Get out!» campaign. As the leader of the association Zmitser Dashkevich said, the campaign is to inform Belarusians that «Alexander Lukashenko’s registration as a presidential candidate is illegal».
