In Minsk National Airport, there continue to cancel flights due to volcanic ash spread over Europe from the eruption of Icelandic volcano. "Many airports in western Europe are still not allowed to receive and forward aircrafts", told at the airport.
In this regard, on April 20, Minsk canceled arrivals and departures of flights from Frankfurt, Warsaw and Riga. «During the day, it is possible that we make other changes to the schedule of aircrafts’ flights, which can be found at the official site of the airport or at helpdesk by tel. 279-13-00», stated at Minsk National airport, BelTA informs.
As Telegraf previously reported, on April 17, because of a cloud of volcanic dust, Belarus closed the movement of aircrafts over its territory at a height of 7 to 11 kilometers. April 19, the airspace was open for aircrafts flights over Belarus.
As reported at Minsk National Airport, the flights are being performed to Russia (Moscow and St. Petersburg), Egypt, Turkey and other countries. «However, the departures are not being carried out in Europe yet, where airports are closed due to the spread of volcanic dust in the air», stated at the airport.
All the data of dust cloud’s movement are being monitored and analyzed by the staff of Department of Aviation of Belarusian Ministry of Transport and Communications in cooperation with representatives of Minsk National airport, Belavia national airline, Belaeronavigation company and republican hydro meteorological center.
