The Belarusian side is talking about the possibility for Venezuela to purchase shares of JSC "MAZ". This was reported by the company's CEO Alexander Borovski in Minsk on December 10. The administration is currently estimating the cost of plant assets, MAZ general director said.

Head of Minsk Automobile Plant added that Venezuela would put in commissioning an assembly line for collection of Minsk Machinery in 2010. The company will also provide Venezuela with 104 technical units as humanitarian assistance for the elimination of consequences of the recent severe flooding, BelTA informs.

Meanwhile, according to Alexander Borovski, MAZ  leadership is looking for a strategic investor. CEO said that the proposals of some large manufacturers, such as Russian KAMAZ and GAZ company, as well as the Italian holding company «Iveco» are under consideration. These organizations claim strategic partnership.

Minsk Automobile Plant is the largest state-owned company in Belarus. The plant produces trucks, buses and trailers. The state owns 100% of the shares at the moment.
