Belavia to Stop Flying to Egypt after Belarusians' Evacuation

Belarusian airlines Belavia plans to suspend flights to Egypt after the evacuation of Belarusian tourists remaining there. The company has partially canceled the flights due to decrease in the number of travellers to Egypt. This was announced by general director Anatoli Gusarov on the TV channel СTV.

According to him, the next flight will take place on February 8 and only for picking up tourists from there. «We plan to perform three more flights to take out all the tourists, who departed from Minsk; meanwhile the flights have been suspended,» said Belavia General Director, BelTA informs.

According to Telegraf, the number of Belarusian tourists in Egypt has fallen by more than 300 people from 2140 to about 1800 Belarusians. «By our information, none of the Belarusian tourist was injured in the population unrest in Egypt,» said press-secretary of the Ministry of Sports and Tourism Vitali Semashko.

In addition, according to Vitali Semashko, 10% to 40% of tourists with bought tours have refused from a trip to Egypt.
