"Those projects (NPP construction), we are discussing and are going to implement, are certainly the projects of the last generation with a much higher level of protection, despite the fact that Belarus is not in such a seismic zone, as Japan is," BelTA quoted the head of the Russian government.
Trade and Economic Relations between Belarus and Russia are Successful, Putin
Moreover, Vladimir Putin believes that the Belarusian-Russian relations in trade and economy as a whole are developing successfully. "The previous year was successful for the development of Russian-Belarusian economic relations," said the Russian Prime Minister, recalling that the trade turnover during this period increased by 19% to $28.5 billion.
Vladimir Putin also spoke on the issue of integration processes, as well as called Belarusian President "a consistent supporter of integration in the post-Soviet space."
"We have qualitatively and quite rapidly prepared and adopted a number of conceptual documents related to the integration between Russia, Belarus and Kazakhstan within the framework of the Customs Union and Common Economic Space. I think this is a very important decision, which will surely contribute to stabilizing the economy and solving complicated socio-economic problems, especially in the ongoing crisis in many major economies of the world," he said.
Vladimir Putin also said that the development prospects of cooperation between the two countries would be also discussed at meetings with representatives of the Belarusian authorities on March 15. "In general, it seems to me that the situation in our economic and trade relations and other areas is developing steadily," he believes.
