Partyzanski court of Minsk, conducting the trial against five defendants in the case on December 19, passed to hearing of arguments on May 13. The prosecutor demanded to sentence former presidential candidate Andrei Sannikov to seven years of imprisonment in the reinforced regime colony, while the other three protesters on December 19 Ilya Vasilevich, Fiodor Mirzoyanov and Vladimir Yaromenko — to three years in the reinforced regime colony, and Oleh Hnedchik — to four years.

The state prosecutor voiced earlier charges in the judicial debate. According to him, the defendants’ guilty in the case was fully confirmed by physical evidence (including videotapes), minutes of searches, evidence of witnesses and injured SWAT officers, reports «Nasha Niva.»

In turn, defense lawyers did not agree to the accusations of the prosecution. According to the advocates, an offense under «the participation and organization of mass riots,» has not been proven in the court — there was no arson, riots, armed resistance to the authorities. On allegations of «personal violence,» which was allegedly used by defendants against SWAT officers, lawyers believe that the cruel and unjustified violence, in contrast, have been used against demonstrators.

According to Telegraf, Andrei Sannikov, Ilya Vasilevich and Fiodor Mirzoyan said after prosecutor Anton Zagorodski had read out a formal charge that they did not plead guilty in crimes, incriminated to them. Oleh Hnedchik pleaded guilty only partially, confirming that he’d participated in the protest, but not in arson and armed resistance. Vladimir Yaromenko admitted his guilt in full.
