Adoption by the Parliament of Kazakhstan — Majilis — of the ratification of a customs union agreement had to be postponed due to the fact that the name and surname of the Prime Minister of Russia — "Putin V.V." was contained in the line "President of the Republic of Belarus."  "Coherent macroeconomic policies" — an agreement among the member-countries of the Customs Union of Russia, Belarus and Kazakhstan, is on the table.

The deputies postponed adoption of this document for several hours due to an error in the accompanying materials, according to the Kazakh news agency Bnews.kz.

«The document reads: «Signed for the Republic of Belarus — Belarusian president Alexander Lukashenko, for the Republic of Kazakhstan — President of Kazakhstan Nursultan Nazarbayev, for the Russian Federation — President of Belarus Vladimir Putin,» deputy Ivan Chirkalin quoted supplement to the agreement at the plenary session of the Majilis.

«Are we ratifying the right document? Maybe we need to give it back, let them clear up the situation,» said majilisman Yerzhan Rakhmetov.

As a result, the ratification debate was postponed for several hours. After the break, the speaker of the Parliament of Kazakhstan, Ural Mukhamedzhanov, announced the amended letter of the Customs Union department head, calling the incident «a flagrant outrage.» The ratification of the agreement was then approved by the Majilis.
