Ukraine Preparing for Trial Obverse Pumping of Venezuelan Oil

The offshore oil terminal "Yuzhni" in Odessa region of Ukraine is preparing for the trial pumping of Venezuelan oil to Belarus through Odessa-Brody pipeline and "Friendship" in direct mode. This was stated by the deputy director of the terminal "Yuzhni" Igor Urbanowicz. This consignment of Venezuelan oil will be delivered to Mazyr Oil Refinery.

Tanker «Sonata» with 80 tons of Venezuelan oil arrived at the terminal port on November 18. Raw materials are being currently offloaded into tanks. Trial flow of Venezuelan oil will start immediately after the completion of customs documentation, BelTA informs.

According to Telegraf, Ukraine and Belarus signed a medium-term contract  in October for «Odessa-Brody» oil transit in the amount of 8 million tons per year. The document provides transportation of Venezuelan oil to Mazyr Oil Refinery.

Contract for oil supply from Venezuela to Belarus was signed on March 17, 2010. According to the documents, Venezuela will supply to Belarus 4 million tons of oil in 2010. «Belarusian Oil Company» and the company Petroleos de Venezuela signed a contract for the oil supply in 2011 — 2013 during the visit of Venezuelan President Hugo Chavez to Belarus on October 16. According to the document, annual oil supplies from Venezuela in Belarus may reach 10 million tons.

At the same time, «Transneft» Russian joint stock company for oil transportation has announced its intention to send observers to watch the direct oil pumping via Odessa-Brody pipeline to Belarus. This was reported by a spokesman Igor Demin. According to him, Belarus has already given its consent to the participation of Russian specialists.
