Import substitution is a major focus of economic development of Belarus in the next five years. This was stated by President Alexander Lukashenko during a visit to "Minsk" Free Economic Zone on November 26. "No need to import toothpicks," the President said.
«And there are a lot of such products that we buy in large quantities abroad,» Alexander Lukashenko said. According to the president, Belarus should organize more import-substitution industries, BelTA informs.
Alexander Lukashenko added that the country would create comfortable working conditions for residents of free economic zones and also serious steps will be taken to promote and protect private property in the future five years.
