The observers revealed no violations during the elections, Lozovik

CEC secretary, Nikolai Lozovik, said that international and domestic observers did not revealed any serious violations during the elections to local councils. «There is roughness and deficit in the electoral commissions’ work, but they are generally settled at the level of the territorial commissions», the representative of the CEC said.

CEC Secretary thanked the observers for their assistance in identifying such cases. In particular, Nikolai Lozovik noted «very active and effective» observation of the voting by the Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of Sweden to Belarus, Stefan Eriksson.

«He visited a number of polling station, and at one of them noted a lack of competence of the electoral commission’s chairman», Nikolai Lozovik said, explaining that the electoral commission’s head did a mistake answering the ambassador’s question on the order of vote’s counting.

«According to electoral law, the counting of votes on ballots received during early voting, voting at home and in the main election day at polling station should be done separately, but not together», the secretary of the Central Election Commission reminded.

Assessing the activity of political parties’ candidates during this election campaign, Nikolai Lozovik said: «Some of the Parties, just want to demonstrate their participation in the electoral process without thinking about how to really struggle for the deputy’s mandate.»

The CEC received few complaints on holding of elections, Yermoshina

In her turn, the chairman of the Central Election Commission, Lydia Yermoshina, reported that the CEC has received very little well-grounded and serious complaints on holding of election to local councils of deputies of the 26th convocation. According to Lydia Yermoshina, there were received only 40 oral complaints from citizens «on various occasions, even on food issues at the polling stations».

«There are serious complaints, mostly from candidates, authorized delegates and international observers», the CEC head said. «For example, one of the diplomats was not allowed to enter the maternity hospital to monitor the elections. But such hospitals observe the sanitary regime».

At the same time, Lydia Yermoshina added that verification of complaints shows: «even where was a violation of the law, it sounded more dramatic when retelling orally than it was in fact».
