All Enterprises of Grodno Region Must Be Profitable, Lukashenko

Belarusian President, Alexander Lukashenko, instructed the chairman of Grodno regional executive committee, Semyon Shapiro, to bring all enterprises of Grodno region to profitable work by the end of this quarter. It was reported in the press service of the head of state.

As Semyon Shapiro reported, the number of unprofitable enterprises in Grodno region decreased by half over past two months. Nevertheless, the president stressed the need to intensify efforts to improve profitability of enterprises, as well as to increase workers’ wages.

Moreover, Alexander Lukashenko gave the governor a number of instructions on construction of livestock facilities in rural areas, funding of incompleted construction of facilities and other spheres of life in the region.

Semyon Shapiro also reported to the head of state on the first million of tons of grain harvested in the region. According to the governor, the amount of grain harvested in Grodno region this year will be no lower than last year’s and will amount to not less than one and a half million of tons. Nevertheless, Alexander Lukashenko expressed his concern that Grodno region lagged behind on the pace of harvesting from other regions of the country.
