First Vice Prime Minister of Kazakhstan, Umirzak Shukeyev, stated on June 1 that all the negotiations to establish the Customs Union would be completed on June 18. According to him, the willingness to do that was expressed by the presidents of Russia and Kazakhstan, Dmitry Medvedev and Nursultan Nazarbayev.

«It will be the final meeting of the Customs Union’s Commission in St. Petersburg, after that at the beginning of July, the presidents (of Russia and Kazakhstan) will gather in Astana and finish the whole process», the deputy head of the Kazakh government said, News-Kazakhstan informs.

Umirzak Shukeyev added that the meeting of the leaders of Kazakhstan and Russia is scheduled on July 4-5 in Astana.

As Telegraf previously reported, on May 28 in St Petersburg the prime ministers of Russia and Kazakhstan signed a package of documents on the Customs Code of CU, which will enter into force on July 1. Belarusian Prime Minister did not come to the meeting because of the of Minsk’s demands to Moscow to cancel export duties on oil and petroleum products. As a result, Belarus was proposed to join the Customs Union later, when all the contradictions resolved.

On June 1, the president of Belarus, Alexander Lukashenko, stated that he «is ready to compromise, to make any concessions, even if they are rather difficult and appreciable for us for some time». «The only thing we would like to have is that everything to be decent and any kind of our relations to be based on equality and respect», Belarusian leader stressed.
