The incumbent president of Belarus Alexander Lukashenko suggests creating an ideological portrait of alternative candidates for president to show that there is no difference between them. "One should figuratively depict a portrait of alternative candidates. People need explaining that they are no different. Everything they say is a lie," the politician said in a meeting with his representatives.
«I know all their ins and outs. They all have grown from the same root,» Alexander Lukashenko said, BelTA.
«All of them are an alternative to the current government, white-red-white, focusing on violent Belarusization, people of an extremely pro-Western vector. And they play the Russian games, the Russian instrument — for the sake of showing some difference and taking as many votes off from the incumbent president as possible,» Alexander Lukashenko said. «It should be a certain ideological portrait of all these nine people,» the president added.
«They demanded a live broadcast, so they were provided with it. And today their close aides and ideologists, if not they themselves, openly declare that it would be better not to use this live broadcast. They might have probably thought that they, great speakers, would appear on the screen and people would run straight away to vote for them. It turns out to be not so simple,» Alexander Lukashenko said. According to the current president, «people can see everything.»
There Should be No Extremes in Agitation, Lukashenko
«Striving to protect everything that we have created, there should be no extremes in propaganda and agitation, Alexander Lukashenko said. If we again start showing off in front of people and exaggerating what has been done, it won’t do us good. It turns out to be not so easy,» the acting head of state said.
Alexander Lukashenko stressed that the list of his trustees includes representatives of different professions, able to talk with people and to convey ideas. «The important thing is that they are the people standing beside the President, implementing the policy of the incumbent and, even more, promoting this course, being involved in the current developments in the country,» the candidate said, referring to the proxies.
«You are just to protect everything created, to spread with me the ideas among the masses, the intentions that we will implement within the next 5 years, if it is the will of the Belarusian people,» the acting head of state said.
