In Internet there appeared a statement, in which an anarchist group called "Friends of Liberty" assumed responsibility for the recent incident on the territory of Russian Embassy in Minsk. As reads the statement, the incident at the embassy was a protest against the arrests of activists who had gone out to protect Khimki forest in Moscow.

«We express solidarity with our comrades and support only direct methods of struggle, because they are afraid of only force, they do not care about anything else», stressed in the statement posted on Belarusian Indymedia website.

Furthermore, the statement reads that «mafia clans» called «the rulers of Belarus» and «the rulers of Russia» are equally adverse to the rally organizers. According to them, «to justify any act of protest and resentment they can do without conspiracy theories».

As Telegraf previously reported, in the evening of August 30, unknown people threw two petrol bombs into the territory of Russian Embassy in Minsk. The incident resulted no injuries. One bottle hit a car parked on the territory of the embassy. Embassy guards extinguished the fire themselves.

Criminal case under the article «hooliganism» is initiated on the incident. However, some Russian and Belarusian politicians expressed the opinion that this incident was a planned provocation of intelligence services.
