Nominal average monthly workers' salary in Belarus totaled Br1.13 million ($377) in January-July, including Br 1.28 million in July. In July, wages rose by 3.9%, or by Br47.8 thousand. Real wages, calculated taking into account the growth in consumer prices for goods and services, increased by 9.4%, comparing with January-July of 2009.
Real wage growth in July 2010 amounted to 3.6%, National Statistics Committee informs.
Average salary at industrial enterprises in July 2010 reached Br1.4 million, including in construction companies — Br1.7 million, in organizations of transport -Br 1.6 million, in agriculture — Br922 thousand, in trade and catering — Br1.1 million, average salary of employees in public health amounted to Br1 million (including Br1.7 million for doctors, Br977 thousand for nursing staff). In educational institutions, professionals earned Br842 thousand in average (including Br946 thousand for teachers, Br1.6 million for faculty).
Highest level of salary maintains in Minsk (Br1.5 million) and Minsk region (Br1.1 million). In Brest, Vitebsk, Gomel and Grodno regions in January-July 2010, employees got an average of Br1 million, Br998 thousand in Mogilev region.
No prices increase in Belarus over two weeks of August, Belstat
Furthermore, the chairman of the National Statistics Committee, Vladimir Zinovsky, reported that there was not recorded consumer prices increase in Belarus for two weeks of August.
According to the head of the National Statistics Committee, for two weeks of August consumer prices index reached 100%, that is, no inflation was recorded, BelTA informs. At the same time, Vladimir Zinovsky explained that «there has been prices growth somewhere, but they have also declined somewhere, what caused inflation evening-out in general».
In January-July of this year, inflation in Belarus amounted to 4.4% against 7.7% for the same period of last year. In July 2010, inflation rate was at the level 0.3%. In 2009, inflation reached 10.1% (0.8% per month in average). In 2010, inflation is planned to be in the range of 8-10%.
