Today, April 15, Kyrgyz President, Kurmanbek Bakiyev, declared that Minsk offered political asylum for him, but he refused. "I said no", Bakiyev stated and noted that negotiations with the provisional government are being carried on, and he supposes that the head of the provisional government of Kyrgyzstan, Rosa Otunbayeva, has signed a decree to guarantee his safety.

Bakiev also reported that he had left Teyit village for Jalal-Abad to negotiate with the provisional government’s representatives, Korrespondent.net reports.

We remind that, earlier, Kurmanbek Bakiyev said that he would resign only if the provisional government will provide security for him and his family.

Before that, the provisional government adopted a decree on Bakiyev’s deprivation of inviolability. New government issued an ultimatum to the President: either he comes to Bishkek, or they will arrest him. April 14, the head of the provisional government, Rosa Otunbayeva, demanded to try Bakiyev.

Mass riots in Kyrgyzstan started on April 6, after that on the eve of the People’s kurultai (Congress), almost all opposition leaders were detained. According to recent data, the victims of clashes — which lasted several days — are about 80 people, more than a thousand injured. The opposition declared the dissolution of parliament and forming of a new government headed by Rosa Otunbayeva.
