Banks Increased Crediting by 7% from the Beginning of this Year, National Bank

The credit portfolio of the Belarusian banks for first four months of this year increased by 7%. It amounted more than 68 billion roubles (or more than 22.59 billion dollars) on May, 1st. This information is contained in the statistical collection of National bank of Belarus. Indicator growth is provided basically at the expense of increase of the amount of long-term credits to economy.

The amount of such Belarusian banks’ credits grew in January-April of this year by 9,3 % and amounted in the beginning of May more than 50 billion roubles (or more than 16.61 billion dollars), National Bank reports.
  
The short-term credits indicator amounted on May, 1st 17.95 billion roubles (5.96 billion dollars), having increased from the beginning of the year by 0.8 %, BelTA informs. As a whole relative percentage of long-term credits in the amount of the banks credit debts was 73.6 % on May, 1st, 2010, which is on 0,3 % bigger than the indicator on the similar date of the last year.

It’s informed by National Bank, that during the first four months of this year the real sector of economy used thre credits in the Belarusian roubles more. In particular, the percentage of national currency credits amounted 72% in the structure of credit portfolio on May, 1st.

Credits in the Belarusian roubles in January-April grew by 9.5 % to 49,06 billion roubles (16.29 billion dollars). Credits in foreign currency in this period increased by 0,9 % to 18.99 billion roubles (6.3 billion dollars). The greatest credits amount was given to the private enterprises.

The representatives of National Bank reminded, that according to the basic directions of monetary and credit policy of Belarus in 2010 it is expected that this year requirements of banks to economy will increase by 36-40 %. Thus the share of the credits which are given by the banks within the limits of the  state programs, in total amount of requirements of banks to economy will decrease in relation to last year by 2-3 %.
