Banks Refuse to Buy National Bank's Bonds

Banks of Belarus did not want to buy 28-day credit bonds of the National Bank at a rate of 8.81%. It was reported in the National Bank of the Republic. According to representatives of the main bank of Belarus, 805th bonds issue, appointed for September 2, declared invalid. The National Bank did not specify the reasons of denial to satisfy received applications.

Nevertheless, four Belarusian banks have applied to participate in bidding, ensuring the actual demand for Br83.1 billion, AFN informs.

As Telegraf previously reported, the National Bank of Belarus intended to withdraw a maximum of excess ruble funds from the banking system.
