BATE Is out of the Champions League

On August 4, BATE Borisov players held the second game of the third qualifying round of the Champions League. In the capital of Denmark, Barisov footballers were beaten by local København 2:3 and now to continue their competing in the tournament ranked lower — Europa League.

At the beginning of the match, at the second minute, the visitors made a mistake, and Brazilian Cesar Santin opened the score. At the 27th minute, home players used negligence of BATE central defenders, and William Kvist doubled the result. However, closer to the break,  Viktor Goncharenko’s players intercepted the initiative and made the game more equal — at the 40th minute, Artyom Kontsevoi scored the first, and four minutes later Pavel Nekhaychik restored the balance.

At the beginning of the second half of the game, København players were more active and at the 59th minute Dame N’Doye brought Denmark’s champions forward again — 3:2, BelTA informs. This shot brought them victory.

BATE: Veremko; Likhtarovich (captain), Sosnovski, Yurevich, Kontsevoi, Bressan, Nekhaychik, Radkov, Pavlov, Bordachev (Baga, 82), Rodionov.

Thus, the Danes go to the Champions League playoffs, and BATE will play in playoffs of Europa League. The draw of both tournaments t be held on August 6.
