The organizing committee for the creation of the "Belarusian Christian Democracy" (BCD) refused to further appealto the Supreme Court for their party's registration. As reported in the BCD, the party leadership did not consider it necessary to take part in the hearing with the pre-determined outcome."

«We refuse to participate in the profanity called «trial» and declare that henceforth we will act as the organizing committee and will not abandon attempts to register the party, which is, in fact, already existing, but denied in registration,» said the BCD.

Supreme Court held the first hearing on the case of the committee’s complaint on BCD creation on February 22. The court postponed further hearing until February 25 after the parties had presented their positions. However, the BCD founders were asked to make a break for two weeks in order to familiarize with the case and call witnesses. However, the court denied this request.

The party leadership believes that the court was biased against their complaints. «Neither judge nor the prosecutor considered the specific facts of pressure and repression, the testimony of dozens of witnesses, pressured by the Justice Ministry and local executive committees, as well as the police and the KGB, at our two previous law processes against the Justice Department. What is more the decision was read from the prepared paper,» noted in the party.

The party believes that the Justice Department denies in party’s registration «for frivolous reasons.» BCD board claimed that «an unprecedented pressure» on members of unregistered parties began right after the submission of registration documents.

«The people were demanded a written refusal to participate in the constituent assembly under the threat of dismissal, expulsion from the university and eviction from the dorms. They were also threatened with denies in fostering children or even criminal responsibility for the trumped-up charges,» reported in the BCD.

Some people were forced to renounce their signature of a founder, however, BCD still have thousand signatures of people, willing to become the party’s founders, which is needed for registration.
