Belarus — Leader in Inflation Rate among CIS Countries

According to official statistics, Belarus is the leader in the rate of inflation among the CIS countries. Inflation amounted to 4.5% in Belarus in April, and 10.9% since the beginning of the year. At the same time, according to the National Statistics Committee of Belarus, prices have risen by 0.4% in the neighboring Russian for April, while since the beginning of the year — by 4.3%; in Ukraine — 1.3% and 4.7% respectively, in Kazakhstan — by 0.5% and 4.2%. This is evidenced by the published comparative data.

The growth in food prices amounted to 5.5% in April in Belarus, while in Russia — 0.3%, Ukraine — 1.5%, in Kazakhstan — 1.1%, reported the National Statistics Committee.

As Telegraf previously reported, the consumer price index for goods and services amounted to 104.5% in Belarus in April 2011 against March 2011, and 110.9% — against December 2010. Producer price index of industrial production amounted to 103.9% in April 2011 compared to March 2011, including capital goods — 103.2%, intermediate goods — 104.5%, consumer goods — 103.2%.
