Belarus Among World Leaders in Inaccessible Housing

According to the study of the international company Evans, Belarus ranks 4th among the countries with the least available residential real estate. The average cost of an apartment in Belarus is €90 thousand, while the average annual household income is only €3.203 thousand. That is, the average Belarusian resident should put by money for 28.1 years to buy an apartment.

Morocco is the world leader in the unavailability of housing, since people need to put by money for 67.5 years there. The average residential property costs €144.800 thousand in the country with an average annual household income of €2.145 thousand. Pakistan, located on the second place, gives a chance to buy an apartment for 40.6 years at an average cost of housing of €74.953 thousand and the average annual income of €1.846 thousand, AFN.

The third place was taken by Montenegro with the average cost of housing €151.155 thousand and €5.038 of family income. Accommodation is available here within 30 years. Russia occupies the 3rd place with 26.1 years of accumulating money. According to the survey, the average apartment price in Moscow is €303.151 thousand (€64.102 thousand in the regions) with an average annual household income of the family €11.615 thousand (€3.08 thousand in the regions).

The most affordable housing is in the United States. On average, it costs €95.536 thousand at an average annual household income of €35.384 thousand. 2.7 years of work are enough to buy residential property in the United States. The Dominican Republic goes next with an index of 3.5 years (the cost of housing — €33.516 thousand, family revenue — €9.576 thousand), followed by Chile with the index of 4.05 years (cost — €45.794 thousand, income — €11.307 thousand).
Sweden requires 4.2 years (cost — €119.536 thousand, income — €28.461 thousand).

Belgium is in 5th place, where 4.3 years are needed to buy an apartment with an average cost of housing of €121.723 thousand and an average annual household income of €28.307 thousand.
