Belarus President urged the Foreign Minister of Cuba, being on a visit to Minsk, to expand all-round economic and trade cooperation between the two countries. "I think we need to boldly develop projects, both parties are interested in," Alexander Lukashenko addressed to Bruno Rodriguez Parrilla.

«Let’s take biotechnology, pharmaceuticals, which are strongly developed in Cuba. Why don’t you come here for a common customs market, create joint ventures with us and benefit from it? We are ready to foster the promotion of projects in this direction not only in Belarus, but in the region as well,» said the head of state.

Belarusian leader also offered assistance in technical modernization to «friendly Cuba,» as well as retooling of enterprises similar to the Belarusian ones, joint manufacturing of tractors and cars and promotion of the Cuban goods in other states.

For its part, Belarus is interested in cooperation with Cuba in the production of sugar, in particular, in the purchase of large volumes of the Cuban raw sugar cane for its subsequent processing, said Alexander Lukashenko.

President of Belarus stressed that «we have no problems in relations with Cuba, which is one of our key partners in the Central and Latin America,» and passed best wishes to the Cuban leaders, Raul and Fidel Castro.

It’s now Profitable to Increase Cooperation with Belarus, Parrilla

«It’s now a very profitable time to promote our cooperation in political, economic, scientific-technological and cultural fields,» said in turn the head of the Cuban Foreign Ministry.

According to Bruno Rodriguez Parrilla, Cuba is grateful to Belarus for its support against the economic blockade, which has long been experienced by his country, and considers the official Minsk as its priority in the foreign policy.
