Belarus Became the 56th in Ranking of 100 World's Best Countries

Belarus took the 56th place among 100 World's Best Countries rating of the American political magazine Newsweek. Researchers took into account five main factors, which are education, health, economic dynamism, political environment and quality of life in the country.

The five leaders are Finland, Sweden, Switzerland, Australia and Luxembourg. Russia is on the 51st place, Ukraine — 49th, Latvia — 36th, Lithuania — 34th, Poland — 29th.  Burkina Faso, Nigeria and Cameroon were recognized the worst of the investigated states. 
In whole, according to various indicators Belarus scored 62.5 points. In terms of economic dynamism Belarus took the 34th place, being ahead of Latvia and Poland in the rating. It is noteworthy that Singapore was recognized «the most economically dynamic» among all 100 countries. According to the experts of the magazine, that country took that place due to the openness of the its economy, low taxes and low corruption. 
In terms of education, as well as the quality of life the Belarusians are on the 35th place. Thus, the experts argue that 99,6% Belarusians are literate, and average years of schooling take 14.6 years in Belarus. The most literate country is Finland, which scored the maximum possible figure of 100 points. 
The specialists recognize Norway as the country with the best quality of life. To determine this figure experts considered such facts as homicides per 100 000 people (6.8 in Belarus), the unemployment rate (1%), environmental health (74.7), income inequality (27.8%) and so on. 
In terms of Health of Belarus took the 66th place. The experts determined that the average life expectancy of the Belarusians is 62 years. The best health care system and, accordingly, the highest average life expectancy of citizens (82 years) are in Japan. 
Belarus took traditionally low 91st place on indicators of the political environment in the country. The experts think that the level of political participation of citizens in Belarus is 3.3 (out of 10), and the level of political stability is 64 (out of 100). The best political environment are considered to be in Sweden, Norway, the Netherlands. 
At the same time, the authors of the rating made one serious mistake. According to them, Belarus is not in Eastern Europe, but in Central Asia. This region traditionally includes Kyrgyzstan, Tajikistan, Turkmenistan, Uzbekistan and Kazakhstan.
