Belarus Began to Pay off Debts for Russian Electricity

The Belarusian side remitted the first tranche of March debt for the electricity supply to the Russian Inter RAO UES. As stressed by Assistant Minister of Energy of Belarus Liudmila Zenkovich, the Belarusian side is fully complying with its obligations to pay debts for the Russian electricity to Inter RAO UES.

June 9, Inter RAO UES reduced the quantities of electricity supplies to Belarus in connection with RUB1.5 billion Belenergo debt. June 10, the representatives of Inter RAO UES and Belenergo held a consultation, signed a payment schedule according to which the Belarusian side is obliged to repay a debt for the Russian energy until July 5 this year. June 13, Inter RAO UES restored electricity exports to Belarus.
