Belarus' Consolidated Budget Deficit Amounts to 523 Million Dollars

According to the National Bank, over January-May 2010 consolidated budget of Belarus executed with a deficit of 1.56 trillion rubles (523 million dollars), what is 2.8% of GDP. Over the same period of last year, the budget was executed with a deficit of 52.3 billion rubles (17.5 million dollars), what was equal to 0.1% of GDP.

Over five months of 2010, consolidated budget revenues decreased by 20.7%, compared to the same period of 2009 and amounted to 18.51 trillion rubles. The expenses decreased by 14.2% to 20.07 trillion rubles, AFN informs.

In June, individuals’ problem debts for loans in rubles increased by 0.7% and amounted to 29.4 billion rubles. From the beginning of the year, bad loans in rubles for individuals increased by 23.5% against a background of the growth in crediting the population in national currency by 22.2% to 15.809 trillion rubles.

From the beginning of the year, problem arrears on foreign currency loans increased by 14.6% to 28.3 million dollars. At the same time, in June, there registered it decline by 0.6%.
 
The rest of population’s foreign currency debt to the banks decreased by 20.2% from the beginning of the year. On July 1, 2010 it amounted to 842 million dollars. The decrease is caused by the ban of individuals lending in foreign currency, which has been applied from July 2009.
