Belarus Created Barrier to Substandard Products Penetration

Republican control and testing facility for quality and food safety (RCTF), based on the Scientific and Practical Center for Foodstuffs of National Academy of Sciences, will create a barrier to substandard products penetration. This was stated by the head of the Center Zenon Lovkis at the opening of the IX International Scientific Conference "Innovation technologies in food industry."

«The complex is equipped with modern devices, new techniques are being designed and developed. All this allows to counter the poor quality products supplied from abroad,» the CEO says, noting that the RCTF has already been testing the foodstuffs and raw materials, carrying out research work, developing and implementing new methods of food and raw materials quality control and safety, BelTA informs.

Over the past two years, RCTF laboratory has tested approximately 70 thousand samples of the products and issued more than 12 thousand protocols. Employees of the complex have worked out 12 measurement techniques of wine production. They have also agreed on 35 regulations with Russia: 29 -on testing methods for fruit and vegetable juices, five -on testing methods of wine production, one — on the acceptance of rules and methods to control oil and fat products. In addition, two normative documents for the definition of cocoa butter equivalents in chocolate and cocoa butter have been brought into correlation with the international standards.

According to Zeno Lovkis, Belarusian manufacturers provide for high quality and competitiveness of food products in domestic and foreign markets.
