Belarus has completed the formation of regional committees on elections of the President. 155 committees include two thousand people. 50% of them are representatives of political parties and public associations, 33.5% — the citizens, submitted documents to nominate a candidate, 16.5% — workforce representatives. This was reported by the CEC secretary Nikolai Lozovik.

Basically, the maximum of all the territorial committees’ composition is 13 people. Voluntary associations received the largest number of seats — 44%, of which 11.7% went to members of the FPB, 7.4% — «Belaya Rus», 7.1% — Belarusian Republican Youth Union, 5.6% — Belarusian Women’s Union, 4.8% — Belarusian public association of veterans, BelTA informs.

The Jury Includes Only 14 Opposition Representatives

According to Nikolai Lozovik, virtually all requests for inclusion in the committee, submitted by political parties, were satisfied. Nevertheless, out of the fact that party nominees were few, they received only 6% of the seats in the committees.

Participates of the committees will be represented by 87 members of the Communist Party of Belarus, 14 — Republican Party of Labor and Justice, 6 — the United Civic Party, 5 — Belarusian United Left Party «Fair World», 2 — the BPF, 1 — the Agrarian Party of Belarus and the Belarusian Social Democratic Party (Hramada).

Nikolai Lozovik noted that in October, the CEC will begin a series of regional seminars for the heads of the territorial committees.
