On June 23, Gazprom confirmed Beltransgaz's payment for gas supplies in May at contract price of 184.8 dollars per thousand cubic meters. As informed in Russian gas holding, the payment totaled 260.134 million dollars. "Thus, the Belarusian side has recognized the need to pay for gas under contract formula", stated in Gazprom.
In this regard, as reads the statement of Russian company, Beltransgaz is obliged to repay immediately the debt for Russian gas supplies to Belarus, accumulated since the beginning of 2010 in the amount of 192 million dollars, PRIME-TASS informs.
In Gazprom they also recalled that the contract price of Russian gas for Belarus in the second quarter amount to 184.8 dollars per thousand cubic meters. In the first quarter of this year it totaled 169.2 dollars, in the third, it will increase to 193-194 dollars, the average expected annual price is 187 dollars.
In January-April 2010, Belarus paid for Russian gas supplies at last year’s price of 150 dollars per thousand cubic meters, referring to the agreement at the highest level.
