Belarus Increased Oil Export Duties

Belarus raised export duties on oil and oil products, exported from the territory outside the Customs Union territory, on March 1. Appropriate resolution № 235 of the Council of Ministers of February 24, 2011 came into force on March 1 in accordance with paragraph 1 of the decree № 716 "On rates of export customs duties" of December 31, 2010, said the Belarusian government.

As Telegraf previously reported, according to the government regulation, the rate of export customs duty of crude oil amounted to $365 per ton, oil with sulfur content — $150.4 per ton.
 
In addition, light oil (light distillates, middle distillates) was priced at $244.6 per ton. According to the document, the duty on heavy oil (liquid fuel, oil, processed oil products) amounted to $170.4.
 
The rate of export customs duties on propane, butanes, ethylene, propylene, butylene and butadiene, as well as other liquefied gases, amounted to $150.2, while petroleum jelly, mineral waxes and similar products amounted to $170.4.
 
The rate of export duty per ton of petroleum coke and bitumen, as well as other residues of petroleum oils or oils, obtained from bituminous minerals, is $170.4, while benzene, toluene and xylene — $244.6.
