Belarus Is Elected as Deputy Chairman of the 65th UN General Assembly Session

As a result of elections, held on June 11 of this year at a meeting of the UN General Assembly, Belarus was elected as deputy chairman of the 65th session of the UN General Assembly. It was reported in Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Belarus. "Belarus was nominated for the post by the group of Eastern European states", said in Foreign Ministry.

The representative of Switzerland, Joseph Deiss, is elected as the Chairman of the 65th session of UN General Assembly. Moreover, as informed in Foreign Ministry, during the session Botswana, Gambia, Mauritania, Senegal, Sudan were elected as deputy chairman of the UN General Assembly from Africa.

From Asia there were elected Afghanistan, Indonesia, UAE, Pakistan, Uzbekistan. From Latin America and the Caribbean — Nicaragua, Suriname, Ecuador. From Western Europe, vice-chairman of the UN General Assembly became Luxembourg.
