According to Interstate Statistical Committee of the CIS, Belarus is ranked the sixth among the CIS countries in terms of industrial production growth with 8.8%. The highest growth rate is registered in Kyrgyzstan. It is equal to 41.8%.
This rapid pace of industrial production in Kyrgyzstan over six months is explained by this year operation’s resumption of system-forming Kumtor company, the UDF website informs.
The second highest rate of industrial development is in Armenia (12.3%), third place was shared by Ukraine and Tajikistan (12%). In Kazakhstan, industrial production from January to June 2010 grew by 11%, in Russia — by 10.2%, in Uzbekistan — by 8%, in Moldova — by 6.6%, in Azerbaijan — by 3.5%.
The average figure for the CIS in the first half of 2010 grew by 10% compared to the same period of last year. Data on the evolution of industrial production in Turkmenistan are not available.
Average inflation rate in the CIS in January — June 2010 is 7%, compared to the same period of last year
In the first half of the year, inflation in Belarus and Russia amounted to 6.6%. The highest inflation rate in January — June 2010, compared to the corresponding period of 2009, was recorded in Ukraine (9.8%), the lowest — in Kyrgyzstan (2.9%). Inflation in Armenia is registered at the level of 7.3%, in Kazakhstan — at 7.1%, in Tajikistan — at 5.3%, in Moldova — at 6.9%, in Azerbaijan — at 4.9%. Data on Turkmenistan and Uzbekistan are not available.
Inflation in the CIS did not increase over a month (compared to May 2010) in average. The highest inflation rate in June was recorded in Tajikistan — 0.6%. In Azerbaijan, Armenia, Moldova and Ukraine there was registered deflation process.
