Sberbank of Russia, which was the organizer of the debut issue of Belarusian Eurobonds, admitted that Belarus was the most difficult client within all the bond projects. Bella Zlatkis, Deputy Chairman of Sberbank, informed on it.

However, she says, Sberbank of Russia plans to place till the end of September 2010 the Belarusian bonds on the Moscow Interbank Currency Exchange (MICEX), Russian «Invest guru» portal informs.

Moreover, Sberbank plans to release the ruble-denominated bonds of Belarus. «This is the first and very big step towards the international financial center,» Deputy Chairman of Sberbank said.

«Today our main task is to help the market to produce the tools. Many, especially the subjects of the Federation, try to make the debts non-public, to exchange them to the credits. It’s not very good, because the public debt can always be controlled. Many of the subjects of the Federation do it effectively. But that is troublesome, since that requires disclosure of large amount of information … The results are obvious, they are the lack of assets that would be perceived positively by the market», Bella Zlatkis commented on the encountered difficulties.
