Belarus is ready to switch "calmly and business-like" to new conditions of work with Russia. It was declared on August 26 by the President of Belarus, Alexander Lukashenko, at a meeting with the governor of Kursk region of the Russian Federation, Alexander Mikhailov. According to him, these conditions should be "fair and not discriminatory, as it is with oil products duties not applied towards Kazakhstan".

The head of state believes that there must be determined without any exceptions clear and understandable rules of the operation of the Customs Union of Belarus, Kazakhstan and Russia. «All the more so that those exceptions and duties have no benefits absolutely, but only harm our relations with the Russian Federation», Alexander Lukashenko said.

The president of Belarus also pointed out that the implementation of agreements reached in Moscow and Astana earlier was being delayed. According to him, there is no fault of the Belarusian side in it, BelTA informs.

The head of state is not sure in the need to make relations between Belarus and Russia pragmatic. «Who knows whether we need this approach in our relations between the two historically and spiritually close nations and peoples. Not everything, for sure, can be measured by ruble, dollar, or, if you like, cubic meters of gas. But since someone in Moscow has these rules — we must take them into account», Alexander Lukashenko stressed.
