Belarus Joined Euroasian Development Bank

Belarus paid its subscription at a rate of 15 million dollars in fixed authorised capital of the Euroasian Development Bank (EDB). Belarus finished by that all necessary procedures for EDB joining. Thus, Belarus became the fifth full participant of the Bank, the press release of the Euroasian Development Bank informed.

Besides Belarus the EDB also includes Russia, Kazakhstan, Armenia and Tajikistan, AFN informs.

The Belarusian government and the Euroasian Development Bank signed in June this year the agreement defining conditions of bank activity in Belarus. Besides, the signed document allows EDB to open an office in Minsk, and also to start more active studying of the investment projects in Belarus.

Now the Bank examines some large investment projects in Belarus which correspond to its missions and strategy. In particular, EDB has completely worked out and has prepared for signing the project of financing at the amount of about 100 million dollars building of Polatsk Hydro Power Station on the Daugava River.
