Belarusian budget receives monthly about 4.9 million dollars less because of difference of the customs duties on new cars, the experts of Belarusian automobile association (BAA) informed. "During the first four months 2009 the budget received about 8.85 million dollars a month, and this year the budget receives 3.94 million dollars a month", the experts said.
The experts of BAA consider that the physical persons and the budgets of the neighbouring countries got the «half-received» 30 million dollars, since the physical persons because of difference in the customs duties on new cars prefer to buy the cars in neighbouring countries such as Lithuania, Latvia and Poland.
Besides, according to the statistical data, dealers sold only 1 519 cars during the first four months of this year. According to the official data, sales volumes have decreased four times, Domkrat.by informs. However, the share of the official cars makes only 33 % of all the registered new cars while the others 67 % are imported illegally.
According to Alexander Demidovich, PR-manager of Volkswagen company in Belarus, new customs duties influenced the least the sales of non-expensive cars, which price is less than 20 thousand dollars.
«Them are often bought on credit. In this case variants of buying the cars abroad don’t work. Therefore, if the difference in the customs duties doesn’t change, the dealers who have non-expensive models will survive. We can only sympathize with the sellers of expensive cars», the expert said.
