Belarus Makes Part of Top-Five on Russian Debt Capital

On the amount of Russian investment in H1 2010, Belarus was ranked the first among the countries of the Commonwealth of Independent States and the fifth among all countries in the world. It was reported in the Federal State Statistics Service of Russia (Rosstat).

According to the Federal State Statistics Service, during the indicated period, there were taken abroad $51.1 billion of Russian capital in total. This is 17.5% more than over same period of 2009. The share of Belarus was $2.16 billion from the total, Ezhednevnik informs.

Besides that, Belarus is one of the largest investors in Russian economy in the production of coke and petroleum products. In this case, under Belarusian investment there meant the funds, Minsk directs for the purchase and processing of Russian oil.

As Rosstat informs, in H1, Belarus invested $511 million in this industry. It amounts to 18.4% of total foreign investment in this sector of Russian economy. More investment in petroleum products production was sent only by Great Britain — $697 million (25% of the total).
