Belarus may raise pensions within the next two to three months. This was reported by Deputy Prime Minister Anatoli Tozik. "The government is considering the issue of retirement pensions size increase. The decision will be taken in the coming months," he said.

According to Anatoli Tozik, this matter should proceed from the economic opportunities of the state. «One should put some money into the pocket to make use of it,» BelTA quoted Vice-Premier.

Anatoli Tozik has also stressed the stable allocation of funds to the Social Welfare Fund of the Ministry of Labour and Social Security; there is a «safety cushion» for pension payments. «In this respect, retirees do not have to worry — the pension will be paid promptly and in full,» assured Anatoli Tozik.

With regard to reforming the pension system, it is something for the future, said Deputy Prime Minister of Belarus. «You need first to develop a principled approach to make both the people and the state feel better and easier. And until such approaches are determined, there will be no steps taken to reform the pension system in Belarus,» concluded Anatoli Tozik.
