Belarus National Debt Rose up to $13.6 Billion in January

The national debt of Belarus increased by 7.3% over January 2011, reported the National Statistics Committee of Belarus. Public debt amounted to Br41.1 trillion ($13.6 billion) on February 1, 2011. The country's external debt in rubles increased by 9.5% (to Br31.8 trillion), and domestic debt — by 0.4% (up to Br9.3 trillion).

Central government debt in the structure of public debt amounted to Br33.2 trillion, having increased by 8.9% over February. Debt of economic entities, guaranteed by the government, rose by 1% to Br7.8 trillion, AFN.

As Telegraf previously reported, the national debt of Belarus grew by 25.9% over 2010. According to the Ministry of Finance of Belarus the national debt of Belarus amounted to over $12.7 billion (in the national equivalent — more than Br38.3 trillion) on January 1, 2011.
