Belarus' Negative Trade Balance Amounted to 1.81 Billion Dollars, National Bank

In Belarus, over the first five months of this year, foreign trade balance in goods and services is negative and amounts to 1.81 billion dollars, what is 27.5% less than over the same period of last year. It's evidenced by data of the National Bank of Belarus.

In particular, the balance of foreign trade in goods in January-May 2010 was negative and amounted to 2.57 billion dollars, what is 16.5% less compared to the same period of last year, in services — it is positive and it is equal to 764.9 million dollars (30.8% more).

Foreign trade turnover in goods and services in January-May of this year increased by 20.8% compared to the same period of 2009 and totals 23.74 billion dollars. Exports of goods and services grew by 27.9% up to 10.96 billion dollars, import — by 15.4% up to 12.77 billion dollars, AFN informs.

Foreign trade turnover in goods totaled 21.08 billion dollars (grew by 19.4%), exports — 9.25 billion dollars (grew by 27%), imports — 11.82 billion dollars (grew by 14.1%).

Foreign trade turnover in services amounted to 2.66 billion dollars (grew by 33.5%), exports — 1.71 billion dollars (growth by 32.9%), imports — 949.8 million (grew by 34.6 %).
