Belarus' Negative Trade Balance Grows to $586.7M

In the first half of 2010, Belarus' negative balance of foreign trade in goods and services amounted to $2.3 billion. This is 21.2% less than over the same period of 2009 (the balance was three billion dollars then), according to the National Bank of Belarus. In June 2010, negative balance rose to $586.7 million, while balance in May was only $492.4 million ($543.2 million in June 2009).

Thus, foreign trade balance in goods in the first half of 2010 is negative and amounts to $3.3 billion, what is 11.5% less than over the same period of 2009. Foreign trade balance in services is positive in the amount of $920.1 million (by 30.2% more), AFN informs.

Foreign trade turnover in goods and services over first six months of this year  grew by 19.6% compared to the same period of last year and amounted to $29.1 billion. Exports of goods and services increased by 25.5% and amounted to $13.3 billion, while import increased by 15.1% up to $15.7 billion.

Foreign trade turnover in goods amounted to $25.8 billion (increased by 17.9%). Export amounted to $11.2 billions (increased by 23.9%), import — $14.5 billion (increased by 13.6%).

Foreign trade turnover in services increased to $3.2 billion (by 35.5%): exports — up to $2.1 billion (34.3%), import — up to $1.1 billion (by 37.7 %).
