Belarus does not plan to change its model of social policy. It was stated on July 31 by the President of Belarus, Alexander Lukashenko, during his visit to Sputnik sanatorium, located in Miadel district, Minsk region, on lake Naroch. "Just tell us — we'll do it, we can do it immediately, but then there will be a mess, we can do it calmly to have an order there", the head of state said.

He recalled that most part of services for the population is financed from the state budget. «Our population does not pay one hundred percent of social package cost. Certain part is financed from the budget: education, medicine, transportation, housing and communal services», Alexander Lukashenko said, BelTA informs.

«If people want to earn $1.5-2 thousand, let’s do it, but you will pay real price for the services. We can do it as in Europe, but then you will pay the full cost like they have it there», the president said.

He also reminded negative examples of sharp transition from one system to another. In this regard, Alexander Lukashenko declared that in Belarus «everything will be done carefully, quietly».

«Probably, it would be fair: to give the money that people to decide what to do with them. We have not left that economy yet. But it’s not the point. If you have wished, we would have done it within one or two years. But there would have been market prices for these services. You just do not want it», the president said.
